Apply for Housing

How Do I Apply?

Raise Up opens its HCVP waitlist periodically based on current funding and voucher availability. Notification is provided of waitlist openings and closings on our website, in local newspapers and through other media as determined necessary to reach potentially eligible households.

The public notice will state that pre-applications for the HCV program will be accepted, how they will be accepted and the time frame that the waiting list will be open. Since the demand for housing assistance often exceeds the limited resources available, long waiting periods are common. Raise Up uses a two-step application process:

  • Applicant will complete a pre-application for purposes of placement onto the waiting list only.
  • Applicants selected from the waiting list are invited to complete a full application to provide all necessary information needed to establish eligibility for the program.

Applicants are placed on the waiting list in order of the submitted online application and pulled from the waiting list according to Raise Up preference(s).

When the waiting list is open, pre-applications will be accepted at myportal.lmha.org.

Find a Home

Raise Up has partnered with AffordableHousing.com to provide a rental listing service. Listings are available to voucher holders seeking residential dwellings in the private market. This service provides full support to owners and residents. Voucher holders can quickly locate available homes, and owners are able to list properties in detail.
