If you are interested in marketing your properties to Housing Choice Voucher holders, list your available units on AffordableHousing.com. You may also register your properties on OhioHousingLocator.Org; click on Register Lead Safe Housing.
Leasing to HCV Voucher Holder
Step 1
Once a suitable tenant is identified, the landlord must complete a Request for Tenancy Approval (RFTA). This form will be provided by the tenant. The RFTA must be signed by both the tenant and the landlord
Step 2
Return the RFTA to Raise Up HCV Department where an Occupancy Specialist will review and test affordability.
Step 3
Once all paperwork is completed and the rent amount is determined based on HUD guidelines, a Housing Quality Standards (HQS) Inspection will be scheduled.
Step 4
Complete the Raise Up online Landlord Briefing. This briefing explains the program and tenant and landlord responsibilities.
Step 5
Complete and submit the online Certification Form and provide to Raise Up by mail to 1600 Kansas Ave., Lorain, OH 44052 or email to hcv@rupartners.org.
Step 6
Once the unit passes inspection, the Occupancy Specialist will complete the final paperwork for landlord and tenant signature.
Step 7
Execute lease and Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contract.
Step 8
Comply with HUD and Raise Up rules and regulations.
